Chloe Kitten~ Audrey's Traveling "Little One"

Here is Chloe Kitten! I'm sorry that most of the pictures are sideways. I will try to get them straightened around, but wanted to get them up before more time went by! I don't know what is going on with my computer. Chloe is on her way to Michigan to see "Auntie" Carolyn! She is such a lovey dove, and loves to snuggle. She purrs her hearts delight!

I sculpted her out of FIMO and Sculpey then sealed her with a varnish. The clay was very white until I sealed it, and then it turned a soft creme. I outlined her eyes in black, gave her a fluffy "Persian" tail, added some tufts of fur to the inside of her ears, and some whiskers to her little cheeks.

I looked it up to see if kitties had eyelashes (I always remembered mine having eyelashes :)...), and found that many do. They are usually the color of their fur. So, I found the lightest eyelashes I had and added them, and gave her a "minkie" fabric body. I thought that was cute too, because we used to say that when our cat was "massaging" us they were "minkying" us...hehe.

I can't wait to hear of her adventures with her "Aunties" around the USA and in Canada! Travel safely "Little One"!

Here is my traveling baby girl, Reneesmae

Please meet my sweet, out-going, happy traveling baby girl, Reneesmae . I have sculpted her head and limbs using polymer clay. I hand applied her red curly mohair and fashioned a wee curly ponytail right on the top of her head. Reneesmae has bright, warm, brown eyes and a darling smile on her baby lips. She is so excited to be traveling to visit her "Aunts" and hopes each one will take a picture of her with her aunts. This little one just loves to look around and see what she can see. She also likes to cuddle so please all you aunts out there be sure to give her a nice big hug to grow on. Oh by the way Aunt Sandra I forgot to add an "e" to her name on the card so please will you add the "e" ? Thanks Be a good girl and have lots of fun with your aunts. Remember Mommy loves you and will be waiting for your stories when you return. Safe travels snuggles. (((hugs)))

A Little Teddy Bear Is Born

I decided to try making a little Teddy Bear and that is just what I did.  I started out with a mixture of Fimo and Sculpey brown clay colors.  I looked on the Internet for some cute pictures of teddy bears and picked a few to get ideas from.  I used a gold Sculpey clay to accent the paws and ears.  I had forgotten how quickly Sculpey clay gets soft and is kind of difficult to work with.  I used black glass beads for eyes and the nose.  Here are some pictures.

I felt the eyes were a little too small, so I put in bigger black glass beads.  I think that looks better.

Here she/he is with bigger eyes and a little hair.

Chubby little legs and arms with paw pads.

I also made a body that I filled with two tiny balloons (filled with steel shot) and some cotton batting.

Isn't she/he the sweetest little handful.

Start looking for this Little One, Auntie Cynthia, she/he will be on the way to you very soon....I will post this little one a little early since it is a long way from Michigan to Canada.  Keep watching for her.

I decided to make two changes in this sweet little baby girl Teddy Bear.....yes, I know now that she is a baby girl.  One is that I will flock her to give her slight brown fur.
.First you have to put glue where you want the fur...then you blow the brown flocking on with a mustard or ketchup squeeze bottle. You have to let it dry over night and then use an empty squeeze bottle to blow off the loose flocking.

My oldest daughter, Kelly, said she thought she needed and embroidered red heart on her chest.  I actually thought of stamping a red heart there but decided to let Kelly embroidery one for me.  Now she really is done and ready to start on her journey

Here Is The Travel List Plan For Our Little Ones

How are you aunties doing.....has everyone decided what they are making? I have been working on the travel list
for the little ones. Could you let me or Audrey know what you are making or that you have started on something in the next few days?
Cynthia lives in Quebec, Canada so her packages will take the longest to travel..I am thinking
I probably live the closest to her since I live in Michigan. Diane K. Is pretty close too. So I thought that I would send to Cynthia.

Traveling List Schedule:
Carolyn (MI) to Cynthia (Canada)
Cynthia (Canada) to Diane K. (PA)
Diane (PA) to Sandra (SC)
Sandra (SC) to Joan (NY or FL)
Joan (NY or FL) to Audrey (WA)
Audrey (WA) to Carolyn (MI)

Our First Mailing Day Is:
September 27th
then October 11th
then October 25th
then November 8th
then November 22nd
then December 6th

Notice you will always send your finished little one to the same person!
Have fun sculpting
It is a tight schedule, but if we follow the schedule we will get our babies by Christmas....won't that be fun!

We Are Ready To Be Aunties To A Group Of "Little Ones"

Girls, time almost got away from me and it is time to start our traveling baby group.
Audrey and I have decided to call it "Clay and Play Traveling Little Ones"...that way the members
can make babies, elves, fairies, animals or whatever. If you have any question or concern about
what you can make, contact Audrey or me. I will make a blog for us to talk about our "travel little ones"
and what we did to them and to have a place to post pictures. The first thing you need to do to join, is go
to Clay and Play Database and make sure you are signed up. The place to sign up is called
Clay and Play traveling babies. So far we have 4 people signed up. Audrey and I want it to start on
Tuesday....September 13th. I know that is close but you all have probably been thinking about it since summer.
The first two weeks is for making your travel object...baby, cat, frog, toddler, whatever you want! Make a body
but don't attach it to the parts...the next Auntie will do that. (Each of us will be Aunties to these little sweethearts).
Then in two weeks we will send the little ones to the next Auntie and she will paint it and maybe add hair...we will
have to know how many Aunties we have before we can really decide what is done each time a little one arrives.
If you know someone that hasn't been online lately can you contact them and tell them if they want to join the
Clay and Play Traveling Little Ones, they need to sign up now. Thanks, I know we will have a great time and we
Should get the Little Ones done in time for Christmas....Yeah!!!!
